Now that Canada has taken a stand to ban the sale/importation of children’s products containing BPA’s, we can all breathe a sigh of relief.
Or can we?
Do we ever really relax? And when I say, “we”, I mean “me”.
I’m a freak. I’m a worry wart. I worry about things that don’t even exist yet. It’s insane.
So even though all these BPA-containing childrens’ products are banned from Canada, I still look for the “BPA-Free” notice on every plastic product I buy. And if it’s not there, I ask the staff. And if they can’t tell me, I don’t buy.
Rewind to Ikea on Sunday. We were wandering around and I picked up a couple of cute kids bowls. They didn’t say BPA-Free, so I thought I’d ask a rep when we got downstairs.
Unfortunately he couldn’t tell me. What his information brought up was that it was made of 100% Polypropylene. I didn’t know this at the time, but that is actually a BPA-free plastic. And then I found this earlier today. Hurrah!
Needless to say, we’re heading out shortly for meatballs and a set of bowls and probably a ton of other stuff we don’t need. Good times.
